Terms of Use

Last Updated: June 26, 2026

Thanks for visiting Finrate.ca. Before you look around or use our site, please take a minute to read these quick rules. By staying on this website, you agree to follow them. If you do not agree with these rules, please do not use our website.

1. We Just Teach (No Financial Advice)

Finrate.ca is an educational website. We are not licensed financial advisors, accountants, or mortgage brokers in Canada.

  • What we do: We write articles and guides to help you learn about money. We track things like GIC rates, compare student credit cards, and explain basic taxes. But this is just information. Do not make big life decisions based only on what you read here.
  • What you should do: Money rules and interest rates change fast in Canada. Before you open a bank account, pick a credit card, or do your taxes, double-check the facts yourself. It is always best to talk to a certified expert.

2. Our Content Belongs to Us

We own everything on Finrate.ca. That means the words, the images, the research, and the website design belong to us.

  • What you can do: You can read our guides, take notes, and share direct links with your friends. We love that.
  • What you cannot do: You cannot copy-paste our articles or use our images on another website, blog, or social media page without asking us first. We work hard on our research, so if you steal our text, we will take legal action.

3. Links to Other Websites

Sometimes we link out to bank websites or official Canadian government pages (like the CRA or IRCC).

  • About these links: We put these links here just to make things easier for you. But we do not run those websites. We are not responsible for what they write or do.
  • Affiliate disclosure: Finrate.ca makes money through some of these links. If you click them and sign up for a service, the company might pay us a small fee. If you have an issue with that service, you have to talk to that company, not us.

4. We Are Not Responsible For Losses

We do a lot of research to get things right. Still, we cannot promise that everything is always perfect or 100% up to date.

  • What this means: Things change fast. Finrate.ca, its owners, and its writers are not legally responsible if you lose money, file your taxes incorrectly, or get into a dispute with your bank. You use the information on this website completely at your own risk.

5. Changes to These Rules

We might change these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the very top of this page. If you keep using the site after that, it means you accept the new rules.

If you have any questions about these rules, you can email us at: legal@finrate.ca
